The Employment Equity and Human Rights Committee's are established to ensure that discrimination of any kind is eliminated and equal opportunities are promoted at the National, Regional and Local level, through the process of negotiation and consultation.

It further encourages members to collaborate with other organizations dealing with equal opportunities and the elimination of discrimination, i.e., the Provincial Federations of Labour, the Canadian Labour Congress, etc.
